José Álvarez

José Álvarez is a Partner at BLP based in Honduras. He is highly recognized in the Antitrust / Competition and Consumer Protection & Advertising areas, leading the most solid practices in these matters in the region.

His expertise in Consumer Protection & Advertising include advising clients on the review of advertisement materials, drafting promotions and their terms and conditions, handling of image rights, unfair competition cases, contracts and more for most prominent companies in the region, as well as handling consumer protection lawsuits.

In Antitrust / Competition matters José has vast experience before the Hondurean Antitrust Authorities, where his involvement has included leading cases regarding the first concentrations of companies in the renewable energy field in Honduras.

José obtained his Law degree from Universidad de Navarra in 2001, and has a Master’s degree from Centro Universitario Villanueva of Universidad Complutense in 2004. In addition, he obtained a postgraduate degree in Commercial Law from Universidad de Salamanca in 2006.
